Before (pre-MOHS): This patient had a very indistinct skin cancer of the right lower eyelid. Various treatment options were discussed, and she elected MOHS surgery to remove the tumor. The advantage of MOHS is in its precision, meaning the patient loses the least normal skin, and has the highest cure rate.

Middle (after MOHS): This photograph shows the patient immediately after the skin cancer removal with MOHS surgery. She is ready to leave the MOHS surgeon, and come to Dr. Enzer for plastic surgical reconstruction.

After: This photograph was taken five months after plastic surgical reconstruction. The skin defect could not be closed directly without causing the lower eyelid to pull away from the eye. Therefore, advancement and rotation skin flaps were used to bring skin into the defect from the side and a z-plasty was used to smooth the edges. Notice the margin of the lower eyelid is flush against the eye. Dr. Enzer and the patient were very pleased with her results.
