What is Vascular Laser & Sclerotherapy?
Vascular laser treatment and sclerotherapy are non-surgical procedures designed to reduce the appearance of visible blood vessels, redness, and spider veins. While both treatments address vascular concerns, they work differently and are used for different types of veins.
Vascular lasers, including the Candela Vbeam® laser used by Dr. Enzer, deliver concentrated pulses of light that selectively target red pigment within superficial blood vessels. The treated vessels gradually collapse and are naturally reabsorbed by the body, helping reduce facial redness, broken capillaries, rosacea, vascular birthmarks, and small spider veins without damaging the surrounding skin.
Sclerotherapy is most commonly used for larger spider veins on the legs. During treatment, a specialized solution is injected directly into the targeted vein, causing it to collapse and gradually fade from visibility over time. Blood flow is naturally redirected to healthier surrounding veins as the treated vessel is absorbed by the body.
Both treatments are performed in the office and can significantly improve skin clarity and overall cosmetic appearance with minimal downtime.
