Before: This woman in her sixties was bothered by her heavy upper lids. She was able to get her insurance company to cover upper blepharoplasty after proving that the extra skin interfered with her peripheral vision. However, Dr. Enzer told her the major problem was more in her heavy and deflated eyebrows. If she only had the blepharoplasty she would still have most of the extra skin on her lids. After going over the various eyebrow and forehead lifting options, she agreed to have an internal browpexy lift in addition to her “insurance” upper blepharoplasty. Note that if a patient has an insurance blepharoplasty they do not receive the same level of contouring as with the “cosmetic” blepharoplasty, and we are not allowed to use the laser for the surgery.

After: This photo shows the result of upper blepharoplasty and internal browpexy lift, 2.5 months after her surgery. Dr. Enzer explained that she would benefit from eyebrow volume replacement, either with fat transfer or synthetic filler, to restore the natural contour above her lids. This will open her eyes even more than what was achieved with the surgery. Note: no lower eyelid surgery was performed.
