Skin Cancer Reconstruction
Photo 1: This gentleman has a basal cell carcinoma of the right lateral eyebrow. Basal Cell Carcinoma (BCCA) is the most common skin cancer, and fortunately almost never spreads to other parts of the body. There are many methods for removing and attempting to cure these cancers, but on the face, we recommend MOHS surgery. It has the highest cure rate and spares healthy surrounding skin.
Photo 2: Immediately after MOHS surgery to remove the cancer. Notice the size of the defect is much larger that the original lesion, indicating there were tentacles of microscopic spread under the skin.
Photo 3: Four months after plastic surgery reconstruction by Dr. Enzer to repair the MOHS surgery defect with reginal skin flaps. Both the patient and Dr. Enzer were very happy with the final scar appearance.
