Before: This patient noticed the growth of a yellow plaque in the inner corner of each upper lid. Dr. Enzer diagnosed xanthelasma, or cholesterol deposits. These occur for unknown reasons and are most common in the eyelids. The blood cholesterol levels should be tested, but they are often normal.

After: Three months after Dr. Enzer removed the xanthelasma with plastic surgery. Note the growths are gone, no scar is visible, and she has a normal shape to her eyelids.
