The FaSuLa® concept can eliminate scars – permanently. FaSuLa® is a revolutionary approach invented by Dr. Enzer to reduce or remove scars from the inside out.

One of the most common cosmetic skin problems and greatest challenges to physicians today has been the scarring caused by acne or chickenpox. Dr. Yoash Enzer, one of Rhode Island’s most respected cosmetic surgeons, has been trained to deal with minute details needed to be a successful plastic surgeon. The need for a successful procedure to eliminate acne scarring has plagued Dr. Enzer for years. Dr. Enzer’s attention to detail, and endless research, allowed him to come up with the FaSuLa® concept for scar removal. Acne Scar Removal
Dermatologists and plastic surgeons have devised hundreds of procedures to eliminate acne scars. Most have enjoyed little success. Cutting out the scars left additional scarring. Chemical peels and dermabrasion that dermatologists recommended often caused complications with additional scarring and skin pigmentation problems.

Most recently (in the 1990’s) cosmetic skin lasers like the carbon dioxide skin laser offered promises of removing all acne scars. However, even after multiple treatments, the scarring did not disappear as originally promised. Little if any benefit was ever realized with this treatment.

At this point in time, Dr. Enzer researched a new and better treatment... a permanent treatment to eliminate acne scars. He quickly understood that the poor success rate was due to the scars being much deeper than anyone ever realized. The scar itself was not being reached by surface treatments such as laser or microdermabrasion. In fact, those with severe acne scars were found to have damage and loss to the underlying fat layer itself.

Dr. Enzer also detected not one kind of acne scarring but a variety of acne scarring. Using this new understanding of acne scars and different depths of skin damage, he developed the FaSuLa® Concept.

The FaSuLa® Concept allows Dr. Enzer to treat most patients with acne, chickenpox, and other traumatic scarring problems. The FaSuLa® concept allows each scar to be analyzed for size, and depth and shape, which then permits Dr. Enzer to devise a proper treatment plan for the individual.

FaSuLa® stands for:
Fat Transfer-Subcision-Laser. Using these three mainstay procedures, and other ancillary techniques as needed, Dr. Enzer restores the damaged skin. He describes the treatment for scars as one similar to the building of a house:

• The foundation (restore the deepest layer with Fat Transfer)
•  Putting up the walls (restore the middle layer with Subcision and Grafting)
•  Painting (smooth top layer with Laser)
