Sclerotherapy Small flat red or purple surface veins may appear on the legs over time, usually in women. Dr. Enzer treats these veins with injections of concentrated salt water (Sclerotherapy) or with a vascular laser. Larger and deeper veins may require injections of more irritating substances. Both the concentrated saline and other sclerosing agents irritate the inner lining of the vessels, causing them to close. Varicose veins are best treated with surgical stripping or endovascular laser by a vascular surgeon. Dr. Enzer will evaluate whether you are a candidate for either of these procedures. Usually several sessions are necessary. |
