Eye Socket (orbital) Surgery
The orbit (eye socket) contains an intricately balanced system
consisting of: the eye itself, muscles, optic nerve, arteries,
nerves, and surrounding tissues. Disease processes can affect
the stability of this system causing pressure and swelling around
or behind the eye. This can cause the eye to be pushed forward,
double vision, or even vision loss. The indication for surgery
depends upon the nature and progression of a disease. Dr. Enzer
performs an entire spectrum of eye socket surgeries, such as orbital
decompression, orbital fracture repair, removal of a foreign body,
incision and drainage of an abscess, excision or biopsy of a tumor,
or treatment of vascular abnormalities.
