"Thinking is easy, acting is difficult, and to put one's thoughts into action is the most difficult thing in the world."

Dry Eye Therapy

When the tear production system does not produce enough tears to keep the eye moist and healthy, the eye becomes dry. It begins to burn and feel irritated. Chronic lid margin infections can make the dry eye problem even worse. Often lubricating ointments and artificial tears help relieve the symptoms, but one needs to get to the basis of the problem. A specialty-trained physician in dry eye, Dr. Enzer can offer a patient relief from their symptoms with a variety of treatments pertinent to their specific problem. Temporarily closing the punctum or puncta (opening(s) leading to the tear drainage system) may work wonders for one patient while other patients need permanent surgical closing to remedy the problem. Dr. Enzer also offers his patients some of the newest pharmaceutical interventions for dry eye, such as Restasis ® drops, dry eye vitamins, or other homeopathic remedies. Every patient’s problem is different, and each must be properly evaluated in order to best treat their specific cause of the dry eye.
